It has been a hard task to try finding out the most important aspects of postmodernity, even because in our searching analysis, we have met a lot of different discussions, theories or just proposals, regarding the postmodern cinema. So we have not close the debate, even because we have no enough knowledge and experiences to do it, but at least we hope will be able to clarify and simplify ideas on this troubling concept.

It is evident that postmodernism is the most obvious reaction against the modern era; it is the logical consequence or the cultural consequence of the late capitalist time. At the same time, as it happens for every ideological or thought era, we can not find out a beginning or an end for the postmodern time, rather we have showed that it is difficult to define postmodern as time. Anyway postmodernity is landing history, it is colonizing the space, the social one, the consumption and the business one, so that it changes the culture. The culture has being de-constructing, then it could has been re-constructing, so every thing can change, what is nasty can turn aesthetic, badly things can turn positive and apocalyptic can turn decorative. "Shopping mall", MTV and the whole computer time, with the artificial reality, the world wide web, the graphic art, are postmodernist fetish (idol), in which finish the electric-mechanical time and the techno electronic one starts developing. Post-modernism as "the subject death". Post-modernism as "simulacra time".

So we can not conclude our essay, we should consider it like a page web, or a computer-art work, just a postmodern work, because it has being under construction, like a game book in which we can figure out only one end but it is not the only one.

We have analyzed in the same way the postmodernist developing through the film industry, in particular the French one. How postmodern has landed the films' production, has been our main question.

We have been focusing on "La Haine" where it seems there is no solution for the crisis, there is no way for going out rather than running away. This movie more than others reflects the main aspects of the postmodernist culture. However as we stressed "La Haine" overtakes postmodernism. In a way our movie represents the "glocal" culture of postmodern time or at least represents the rupture between modern and something should be postmodern. La Haine is not a philosophical movie it has not played to show out the rupture of our time, rather it is a sociological movie, a cultural expression of our time. So on representing our time Kassowitz designs a postmodern view a postmodern society. It is here that the movie overtakes, going further. As a matter of fact postmodernity seems to belongs to the death of the subject, to the disappearance of the individual as identity,; while it proposes an individual lost in the contradiction of modernity.

La Haine overtakes it; its characters are lost, but they find in them self the attitude to come up, to fight; to find out a new identity. It is not true that with the dramatic end there is no solution to the hate of our time, to the social postmodern contradiction; rather that is the point, that is the cause of postmodernity. Postmodernity is the death of our time.

Kassowitz is hopeful, its movie is full of feeling; a new heroic postmodern romanticism, in which he overtakes postmodernity it self. La haine is a melting pot, a social postmodernism, in a way a post-postmodern.
